Jaguar Land Rover is taking a significant step forward in its electrification journey with the introduction of its first fully electric SUV, the Range Rover Electric, in the UK market. This luxury vehicle, priced starting at £154,070, represents the company’s commitment to sustainable driving. While customers can place their orders now, the first deliveries are projected to commence in 2027. The Range Rover Electric will be assembled at the company’s Solihull plant, a move that underscores Jaguar Land Rover’s transition towards electric vehicle manufacturing.
At the heart of the Range Rover Electric are two robust electric motors that together produce up to 550PS and 850Nm of torque. These features enable the SUV to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 4.3 seconds. The vehicle promises a driving range of up to 372 miles on a single charge, as tested under the WLTP cycle. This impressive range is complemented by the vehicle’s 118.5kWh battery, which supports 800-volt charging technology. This allows for rapid recharging, with the battery capable of going from 10% to 80% charge in about 22 minutes when conditions are optimal.
While the Range Rover Electric embraces cutting-edge electric technology, it does not forsake the brand’s hallmark luxury and off-road prowess. The SUV maintains its classic design while introducing an electric powertrain and enhanced aerodynamic features. Importantly, it retains the capability to handle challenging terrains, including the ability to wade through water up to 900mm deep, thus preserving its versatility in various driving conditions.
