Nexford University has formalized a new educational pathway for undergraduates through an articulation agreement with UPI Study, commencing on April 24, 2026. This partnership creates an efficient route for learners to transfer credits from UPI Study to Nexford’s undergraduate programs. UPI Study courses that are recommended for credit by the American Council on Education (ACE) and the National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS) will be assessed by Nexford for applicability to its degrees. The extensive selection of nearly 70 courses encompasses disciplines such as business, computer science, AI, mathematics, science, and social sciences. These courses are available entirely online, allowing students the flexibility to complete them at their convenience, either before or during their enrollment at Nexford.
The initiative is tailored for working professionals, career changers, and individuals with packed schedules, providing them with a streamlined and cost-effective alternative to traditional degree pathways. By facilitating the transfer of pre-earned credits, students can shorten their time to graduation and reduce educational expenses. Dr. Ann Larson, Nexford University’s Chief Academic Officer, emphasizes the university’s commitment to adapting education to fit the learner’s existing lifestyle rather than forcing life to adapt to traditional educational structures. The collaboration with UPI Study offers students a recognized avenue to start building credit towards a degree from the outset.
UPI Study presents a compelling alternative to the conventional community college model by offering self-paced, college-level courses starting at $89 per month, a stark contrast to the $300-$600 per credit hour typically charged by traditional institutions. Students can complete these courses independently, receive an official transcript, and then submit their credits to Nexford University for evaluation. A comprehensive guide detailing course equivalencies, as outlined in Appendix 1 of the agreement, is accessible on UPI Study’s website.
Founded with a modern approach to education, Nexford University is based in Washington, DC, and focuses on producing graduates equipped with skills that are immediately applicable in today’s job market. The university emphasizes flexibility and real-world project completion, integrating AI as a key component of its curriculum to better prepare learners for current and future career challenges. UPI Study, meanwhile, offers ACE and NCCRS-recommended courses that are recognized by over 2,100 higher education institutions. These courses are designed to be accessible, with no fixed deadlines or physical campus attendance required.
